Gianna M. Del Corso is an associate professor of Numerical Analysis at the Computer Science Department of the University of Pisa. During her Ph.D. at the University of Milano, she has been a Visiting Scholar at the Computer Science Department of Columbia University, New York, and a Visiting Researcher at the Department of Computer Science, of the Johns Hopkins University, Baltimore. After graduation (1997), she joined the Institute for Computational Mathematics of CNR as a research fellow. She joined the Computer Science Department at the University of Pisa in June 2000. Her main scientific interests range from the study of algorithms for eigenvalue computation of low-rank perturbation of unitary matrices to the use of spectral techniques for data-classification. She got interested in the quantum computing field only recently and she is especially fascinated by the study of state preparation and by quantum Machine Learning techniques.
