Lorenzo Maio graduated in Theoretical Physics in (MSc) in 2019 at Sapienza, University of Rome, he is currently a PhD student in Physics at the University of Pisa. His research is focused on the non-perturbative study of Quantum Chromo Dynamics (QCD) properties in extreme conditions, such as strong magnetic fields and high temperatures. During his first year in PhD school, he had the opportunity to learn basic concepts on Quantum Computing and Quantum Technologies by attending a specialistic course at University of Pisa; then he had the possibility to work on a project of the QuBiPF collaboration, simulating the Quantum Metropolis Algorithm for a Z2 gauge theory on a simple two points lattice. His interest for these topic is motivated both by the interest for quantum physics and the possible future applications in his research area.
