Claudio Bonanno. I graduated cum laude in Physics (MSc) in 2017 at the University of Pisa and I am currently a near-end PhD student at the same university. During my master thesis and my PhD I focused on simulations of lattice gauge theories, in particular Quantum Chromo-Dynamics and related theories, like CPN-1 models. I developed a particular interest in the study of the topological properties of these models, which are interesting both for their connection with phenomenology of hadron physics and beyond and to gain a better understanding of non-perturbative theoretical aspects of gauge theories.
During my PhD I also had the chance to learn something about Quantum Computing and Quantum Technologies by joning the activities of the QuBiPF collaboration. I am fascinated by these topics since, in the next years, they are going to change the current paradigms of scientific computing and will have a strong impact also on numerical techniques for lattice simulations.
